Wine Tasting: An Introduction with Omar White

February 22, 2013

Want to know more about wine? The right questions to ask and what to look for when you’re tasting? Terms like acidity, tannins, bouquet and the breadth of varietals have you a little confused?

Long time San Francisco Bay Area wine connoisseur, Omar White, breaks down the fundamentals of wine tasting. He’ll lead the audience through an informative, guided journey through the wonderful world of wines and how to completely enjoy the process of wine tasting.

Omar was first exposed to wine  at Chez Panisse where he was for 15 years. After leaving Chez Panisse he went on to direct the wine  program at Pizzaiolo which earned Best New Wine List from the influential East Bay Express. He has gone on to help launch other popular eateries and acclaimed wine programs at Tinderbox, Hibiscus, and Eat+Lounge. His wine lists are inspired and fun, if not a bit eccentric.  But, to Omar, the best wines are eccentric and he promises to share some of these wines with you.

Enjoy the wines and experience at this engaging wine tasting along with bites provided by The Mission’s venerable Bi-Rite Market to complement your palate. You’ll benefit from a very up, close and personal interaction at this special wine event. Tickets are limited!
