Delight, Discover & Dine! Enjoy a unique dining experience at In The Kitchen with Chef Michele Wilson!
Kick-off The sf|noir Wine & Food Festival's weekend series of events in style at Bloomingdale’s with another installment of the In The Kitchen series, an opportunity to get close and personal with some of the Bay Area's top chefs as they prepare this unique dining experience right before you. This Black History Month, our palates will get perfectly satisfied by Chef Michele Wilson’s masterful and refined take on Southern flavors. Just months away from opening her new restaurant, Gussie's Southern Table & Bar, which will be located next door to Oakland's famed Paramount Theater, Chef Michele will give us a preview of what we can expect at her highly anticipated new restaurant—adding to Oakland's ever growing culinary landscape.
A resident of Oakland, Chef Michele has taken her grandmother Gussie’s recipes, and a few of her own, to create a restaurant where you can get food like Grandma used to make! She has over 15 years experience in the food industry and has been featured on many local television shows and publications. She was a guest chef on “Grill It with Bobby Flay” on Food Network where she wowed viewers with her grilling techniques and cocktail recipes. She was also a contestant on ABC’s “The Taste” and “Guy’s Grocery Games” on Food Network. Michele loves to entertain and incorporate quick and easy dishes into her everyday lifestyle. Her food philosophy is: Cook, Eat, Love. Her first cookbook, Edible Desires: How to Seduce Your Mate through the Art of Cooking is due to arrive on shelves this Spring.
Enjoy a wonderfully educational and tasty evening, which also includes complimentary wine throughout the evening by sommelier and winemaker André Mack's Mouton Noir wines.
"I don’t see wine as a status symbol, or some type of exclusive club. I see wine as art, geography, history...a condiment to life. My mission is to make wine more accessible to everyone." Read more about André Mack here and taste his wines, which will be paired with Chef Michele's offerings for the evening at Bloomingdales, on Friday, February 26.
